Event Overview

Entrance

Entrance to Raqs Britannia is £8 for a weekend pass or £5 per day, remember you must have a pass to be able to book any workshops and get entry to the event. If you just wish to turn up on the day entrance tickets will be available and also we will have family tickets available for £10 (2 Adults and 2 Children, additional children £1). This will enable you to watch the Matinee Performance on the Saturday as well as enjoying the Open Stage performances AND visit the extensive souk.

Refreshments will be available throughout the day and new for this year, we will also be putting on a free children's workshop on the Saturday, details to follow.

Workshops

Workshops are available from Friday through to Sunday afternoon and throughout the 3 day festival we have some fantastic classes from the Bellydance Superstars and their invited guests, teaching everything from back bends to isolations and pops and locks! Please have a look through and see what takes your fancy.

Friday

On Friday night there is a buffet from 7.30pm until 9pm and we will have the 1st of two fabulous shows from our European guest teachers in the empress Ballroom at 8.30pm. Ticket prices are £12 for the show and £10 for the buffet. If you prefer, you can purchase the two tickets independently. After the show you can dance the night away with Oojami DJ who will be spinning your favorite sounds until after midnight. Remember..... the Souk located in Empress Ballroom will be open before the show, so there will be plenty of opportunity to indulge yourselves!

This year, we plan to host all of the weekends entertainment in the Empress Ballroom with the exception of the Superstars Show which for the first time will be performed in the legendary Opera House.

Saturday

We have scheduled the second of the two shows from the European teachers between 2-4pm on Saturday, again in Empress Ballroom. This event is free for all those with Weekend or Saturday day passes.

Saturday night at 7.30pm sees the long awaited return of the Bellydance Superstars. Performing in the Opera House (located within the Winter Gardens), the show will feature International Superstars Suhaila Salimpour, Morocco and Fahtiem. Ticket prices vary depending on seats but please see our Show purchase page for these details.

Remember that this is the first time Suhaila has performed and taught in the UK, an opportunity not to be missed!

After this there is a further program of entertainment planned with Natacha Atlas who will be performing with full LIVE band in the Empress Ballroom from 10pm. This performance will, by popular demand, be followed by Oojami DJ until around 1am. If you are buying BDSS show tickets, this performance will be £10, and if you are just coming to see Natacha and Oojami DJ then tickets are £15. Remember....You can mix and match the events you want to see to make your weekend as bespoke as possible.

The Buffet for Saturday night will be served in two sittings, depending on whether you prefer an early meal, or a late one, fitting around the show:

• First sitting: 6pm - 7.30pm
• Second sitting: 9.45pm - 11pm

The Saturday Buffet is £12.50 per head.
