The Uzumé
The Uzumé was founded in early 2005 by Tjarda and Minka and began as the first troupe to represent Tribal Fusion Bellydance in the Netherlands. As their style immediately hit it off, they started collaborating with many DJ's and events. After several months of hard work, they found their equal in Maya (Renate), to complete the team, joining forces with their unique individual qualities.
They have already won several prices for their innovative choreographic style and are well-known for their strong charismatic stage presence. The Uzumé does both choreographed and freestyle performances to electronic beats of the global underground mixed with traditional music. Late 2007, they successfully produced "Worlddance Con Fusion", their first theatre show, which has sold out twice within a few weeks. They are now performing and teaching throughout Europe.

Transformus!!The Uzumé are well known for their innovative choreographies and powerful stage presence. Their creative movement vocabulary is refreshing to many and with their unusual travelling sequences they never cease to inspire and surprise the audience. This workshop will focus on the art of personalizing combinations. Utilizing the elements of dance, such as balance, release, breathe, etcetera. The Uzumé will show you how to establish motion and personality in your dance. Learn how to take other artists vocabularies and make them your own.
