Who

Sabah

Sabah became a member of the Bellydance Superstars in 2006, featured in her unique combination of bellydance en pointe. Sabah's history includes over 20 years of intensive training in classical ballet and modern dance styles. Sabah began her professional ballet career performing in The Nutcracker in 1989, and continued to perform every Christmas season for 12 years, working her way up from young adult to principal roles. Sabah has also been a member of professional ballet and modern dance companies in both in Chicago and Alabama.

She has studied intensively with famous ballet companies including Boston Ballet, San Francisco Ballet, ABT, and The Pacific Northwest Ballet's summer dance programs. Sabah has a bachelor's degree in Cultural Studies and a minor in Dance. Her quest to always further her dance studies has led her around the world including Egypt, Morocco, Iceland, and Europe to teach, study, and perform both bellydance and her unique ballet/bellydance fusion.

Sabah has been teaching ballet and belly dance classes and workshops for over 7 years and is happy to share her experience of exploring both art forms.

What

Ready to go beyond the basics of ballet and belly dance technique? This workshop will dive deeper into the fusion of ballet with belly dance technique. Continue on with Sabah beyond the basic concepts presented in Ballet For Belly Dancers.

We will learn challenging combinations and concepts including: balance and counter-balance, advanced cross-pull coordination, multiple turns, one-foot turns, advanced arm carriage, and intricate foot work. Of course, these concepts will then be incorporated into combinations that blend the boarders between ballet and belly dance technique!

PLEASE NOTE: The warm-up does include floor work, so students are encouraged to bring a yoga/exercise mat for comfort. Soft slipper dance shoes are encouraged but not required.
