The Bellydance Superstars & Raqs Britannia Team x
Advanced Tribal Choreography

Who
Samantha Hasthorpe
In 2005 Samantha had the honour of being invited to join Rashani, an international Tribal Style troupe based in Dublin, directed by Wendy Marlatt.
Samantha quit her job labouring on a construction site and left the UK in November 2005 to pursue her passion for Belly Dance through training with master teachers and originators of the art form in the USA.
She has travelled through Canada and the US teaching, training and performing in shows such as The legendary Suhaila Salimpour show in Toronto with Rachel Brice, Tiffany Bisconer and Ritesh Das. Now Level 1 certified in Suhaila Salimpour's format, Samantha is working towards Level 2. Samantha has also qualified in Carolena Nerricio's ATS General Skills course in June 2006, and attended regular classes and workshops with many of the best teachers in the bay area.
Inspirations include Jamila Salimpour, Suhaila Salimpour, Rashid, Fat Chance Belly Dance, Rachel Brice, Katarina Burda, Mira Betz, Elizabeth Strong, Ariellah, Jill Parker and Frederique.
Samantha is currently based on Vancouver Island teaching Tribal Style Belly Dance classes and workshops and plans to further her studies in the US.
What
Samantha fuses her short distinctive combos in an original choreography. Strengthening techniques and drills for these combos included utilising concepts and inspirations from her Tribal Style training in the USA and Martial Arts experience in the UK to better support the core and enable isolations of key muscle groups for Tribal Fusion choreography. Spins, turns, twists and locks aplenty.
